Network Attached Storage (NAS)

Overview

The SharqStor Network Attached Storage (NAS) range comprises of five highly configurable rackmount storage appliances. SharqStor NAS appliances are built using industry-standard 64-bit platform technology and support all leading network storage protocols:

• Network File System (NFS) v2, v3, v4
• Common Internet Filesystem (CIFS) / Server Message Block (SMB)
• Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) / Web Direct Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV)
• File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
• Internet SCSI (iSCSI) target and initiator modes

iSCSI SAN

iSCSI target support brings block-based Storage Area Networking features to traditional file-based storage appliances - doubling the appeal of a single network storage appliance with a full protocol suite.

Storage Virtualization

In addition to the full network storage protocol suite, SharqStor NAS appliances provide full storage virtualization and hardware RAID support with hot-swap disk functionality. The entire range of storage networking features embodied in SharqStor is provided via the most powerful Open Source network storage management software available today: Openfiler.
