SharqStor FS 3160

Overview

The SharqStor FS 3160 is a 3U FC(2G) to SATA RAID array subsystem designed for connection to a host fibre channel HBA or SAN fabric. The FS 3160 is an ideal option for mid-range direct attached storage applications, high availability clustering, scalable SAN installations and OS virtualization.

SharqSTor [FD]S 3160

  • 3U Chassis
  • 16 SATA-II Drive Bays
  • Dual Redundant RAID Controllers
  • Four FC-2G ports

The SharqStor FS 3160 has two (2) 2Gbps Fibre host channels that are routed through an onboard hub to four (4) small form-factor pluggable (SFP) ports. The sixteen (16) SATA-II drive channels are routed through the backplane board to the sixteen (16) drive trays installed in the front panel of the subsystem. The subsystem combines massive storage capacity with SATA-II benefits, such as high performance and full bandwidth, in a safe environment where the highest level of data availability is assured.

Key Features

  • Two (2) cost-effective, 2Gb per second (2Gbps), hub-embedded Fibre host channels per controller; transfer rate up to 200MBps per channel
  • Compatible with the latest 3Gbps, SATA-II disk drives; backward compatible with SATA-I drives
  • Full-featured redundant controller architecture
  • End-to-end I/O performance up to 385MBps Sequential Reads and 383MBps Sequential Writes in a RAID 5 configuration with adaptive write policy function
  • Independent host connection modules to assure channel availability
  • Highest density in 3U chassis providing up to 8TB storage capacity
  • Two (2) standard, hot-swappable battery backup units (BBU) that can be replaced online
  • Dual-speed fans to reduce system noise
  • Configuration Client for real-time event notification over a variety of methods
  • Effortless management through the LCD keypad, RS-232C terminal, or Java-based RAIDWatch manager over the Internet
