SharqStor FS 4240
Overview
The SharqStor FS 4240 is a 4U FC(2G) to SATA RAID array subsystem designed
for connection to a host fibre channel HBA or SAN fabric. The FS 4240 is an
ideal option for mid-range and high-end direct attached storage applications,
high availability clustering, high
performance computing clustering, scalable SAN installations and OS
virtualization.

The SharqStor FS 4240 fabric attached storage subsystem comes with two (2)
2Gb per second (Gbps) Fibre Channels interfaced through eight (8) small
form-factor pluggable (SFP) ports on two (2) independent I/O modules with
embedded bypass. The subsystem's 4U-profile, rackmountable chassis houses
dual-redundant RAID controllers featuring complete RAID protection and data
integrity functionality. Designed for no-single-point-of-failure (NOSPOF),
overall operation is protected by redundant, hot-swappable power supplies and
cooling fan modules. All major components are hot-replaceable, including the
Li-ION battery, host I/O modules, and RAID-protected disk drives.
The subsystem provides high-density array capacity with twenty-four (24)
drive bays for SATA-II disk drives, facilitates large I/O transfer over its dual
PCI-X bus architecture, and combines the capabilities and block-level
performance of RAID storage with reliable Fibre Channel connectivity.
